Plant Walk in Flagstaff – Saturday, August 21, 2021

Medicinal and Edible Plant Walk with a focus on traditional uses of native flora

Saturday, August 21
8am to noon
We need to begin early to avoid possible rain and thunderstorms
Safety is the #1 concern.
The walk will be cancelled if there is heavy rain or lightning in the morning.

In the ponderosa forest near Flagstaff.
The exact location will be shared closer to the date.
A vehicle is needed to get to this plant walk.
There is no public transport.

How Far:
The walk is about 3 miles total.
The trail is generally flat or rolling and is rocky and uneven in places.

What to Expect:
The hiking pace is slow with several stops along the way to see, touch, photograph and possibly taste various plants.
Traditional uses of the plants will be shared with each stop.
Dress for the weather – August – 7,000’ – rocky trail – possible rain

Bring water – snacks – first aid kit
There are no toilet facilities other than what nature provides. Come prepared.


This plant walk is free to the public.
Only people who have previously registered may attend.

The group is kept small by design to allow for a quality experience.
