Why
From the forest to the bottle, people will participate in the gathering and distilling of native plants into therapeutic essential oils.

This workshop has an emphasis on DOING.
You will be actively involved in the wild crafting and distillation process.

This is an OUTSTANDING opportunity to deepen your understanding of the art and science of using aromatic plants.

Vegetarian, Gluten Free breakfasts and dinners will be available Saturday and Sunday.
Vegetarian choices include eggs and cheese.

Feel free to bring your own food if you have dietary needs beyond what is provided.

The Friday dinner potluck, two lunches and snacks are on your own.

Limited ice chest space is available. Bring your own cooler if possible.

Bring your own cup, bowl and eating utensils.

Bring your beverage of choice for meals. Hot water for tea and coffee will be available.

A basic camp kitchen is provided.

Lodging
Camping in an open field near the distillery is available.
There is a composting toilet/outhouse near the campsite.
Showers are available a short drive away for $5 or bring your own solar shower pack.

Boulder is in the middle of incredible natural beauty: three hours from Zion National Park, two hours from Bryce Canyon National Park, one hour from Capitol Reef National Park and surrounded by the Grand Staircase National Monument.

What to Bring
Everything you need for camping
+
Food for Friday potluck, snacks and lunches
+
Clothes (jeans and long sleeve shirt) for outdoor “chores” as we will go to the forest to gather tree boughs that we will prepare to be distilled. Something you don’t mind getting resin stains on.

Seasonal clothing including possible rain and cooler evenings
Leather work gloves.
Comfortable shoes for light work – a sturdy pair of tennis shoes would be fine.
Sun protection – hat – sun screen – lip balm
Water bottle (1-2 L)
Notebook and pen for journaling and note taking
Camera
An open heart and inquisitive mind
Musical instrument, if you wish

What You Take Home
5 ml essential oil and 2 oz hydrosol spritz of each day’s distillation
Extra hydrosol is available if you bring your own container.
Additional oils and hydrosols will be available at special discount student prices.
